Group nature walk for seniors at Rum Village Park in South Bend

SOIUTH BEND, Ind. - Rum Village Park invites seniors 55 and up to a nature walk in the woods where you'll be guided down trails learning about the plant life and animals.

This free program starts at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, at the nature center building. The event is part of the park's Wednesday Walks program happening weekly.

Arrive early so you can check out the exhibits, watch the birds, chipmunks, and squirrels in the auditorium, and enjoy a complimentary snack or drink.

The trails are sometimes muddy, so bring appropriate footwear. In the event that the trails are prohibitively muddy, the hike will be on the park road.

The park has nearly three miles of trails, running through a scenic, hilly location.

Rum Village Park is located at 2626 S Gertrude St in South Bend.

You can check out the Facebook event page for updates and further information.
