MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- ABC57 has learned more about the recent arrest of a former Mishawaka Gurley Leep employee, 47-years-old Marie Brumbaugh, charged with theft for two missing cars from the dealership.
According to court documents Brumbaugh admitted she made rental agreements with a man she owed money to for pills, lending him the cars to pay off her drug debt.
The two missing Subarus were recovered and found to be involved in two separate crimes in South Bend, with one car having bullet holes all along its side.
Gurley Leep estimated Brumbaugh's scheme cost the company more than $60,000, by lending 12 cars to people she knew for free.
