NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame freshman Hannah Hidalgo is both this week's ACC Player and Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. It is the 12th time this season Hidalgo has earned the freshman honors, setting the conference record.

Hidalgo earned these honors coming off of a week defeating two ranked opponents, No. 5 Virginia Tech and No. 22 Louisville averaging 24.5 ppg and leading the ACC in 9 steals. She also collected 20 rebounds, which is the second-most by any ACC guard during that week.

The feisty freshman finished the ACC regular season with 24 20-point games, five more than anyone else in the league.

Hidalgo is also the only player nationwide averaging at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals per game.

Notre Dame men's basketball guard Markus Burton also received ACC Rookie of the week honors.

The Irish earned a double bye with their win over Louisville Saturday, and will open ACC tournament play in Greensboro, North Carolina on Friday. They will find out their opponent following Thursday's games.
