Hawks lose to Bees in extra innings

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Silver Hawks went into overtime on Thursday night.

The Hawks lost to the Burlington Bees 7-5. They'll be back in action on Friday in South Bend.

Before the game, folks were swinging for the fences.

United Way kicked off its workforce campaign and more than 200 companies took part in the annual fundraiser.

This year the organization wanted a fun way to start the season so it hosted a home run derby.

Nobody hit one out of the park. The United Way hasn't set a fundraising goal yet.

Last year it raised nearly $3 million.
