NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame Men’s Basketball Head Coach, Mike Brey, announced his departure from the university after the end of the season earlier this week.
While many will be sad to see the coach leave Notre Dame, the students may feel the loss just a little bit more.
Some student athletes recall times Brey would hype them up before or during games, helping further their experience at the university.
Some fans even tell ABC57 that Brey was hyping up the student section during the last home game. Now they plan on being in their seats for the remainder of the season, since he is leaving the program.
Former Notre Dame Women’s Basketball Coach, Muffet McGraw, also noting that Brey had a great relationship with all of the coaches and staff at Notre Dame.
Brey has led the team to many wins, being referred to as the most winningest coach in Notre Dame history, despite a rough season this year.
