Head-on collision claims one life, sends another to the hospital

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- A Milford woman was killed and a Warsaw man is in serious condition after a head-on crash Tuesday morning, near Leesburg, Ind.

Kosciusko County police said it happened just before 8 a.m. on Tuesday at State Road 15. That is located just north of Leesburg, and south of County Road 900 North.

When police arrived on the scene, they found 43-year-old Ty A. Marshall pinned inside his car with broken legs.

Marshall was extracted from his car and rushed to Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw for treatment. He was later transferred to Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne due to the severity of his injuries.

The Kosciusko County Coroner's Office pronounced 90-year-old Kahte I. Antonides dead at the scene.

The coroner said she died of blunt force trauma, and had not been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Officers believe this nasty weather is to blame for the crash.

The crash is still under investigation, pending legal blood toxin screenings, as required by state law.
