Health initiative at local barbershops kicks off this month

April kicks off this year's Indiana Black Barbershop Health Initiative. The initiative aims to educate black men on the importance of regular testing to catch diseases early.
On April 13, men can stop by participating barbershops in South Bend, Elkhart and Michigan City for free health screenings.
Major health risks for black men include heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes.
