High school coach arrested for domestic violence

Bremen High School’s Head Football Coach, Bob Holmes, 50, was arrested Wednesday. LaPorte County Police say he committed domestic violence against his live-in girlfriend.

Police say his girlfriend’s 17-year-old son called 9-1-1 after Holmes got violent at their residence in the 2200 block of County Road 250 South. The victim says Holmes threw her to the bathroom floor three times.

Eventually, the victim’s son got involved. Police said he knocked Holmes to the floor and escaped the house to call for help. Holmes was booked into the county jail sometime after 3:00 p.m. CST Wednesday and bonded out shortly after.
