High school student dies in crash

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- A Michigan City teen died in a single vehicle crash on Pahs Road in Michigan City Thursday evening.

The investigation revealed the car was traveling westbound on Pahs Road when it drifted off the shoulder, hit two utility poles and a brick pillar before coming to rest in front of the Cantebury Apartment complex, according to Michigan City Police.

The crash caused a power outage to the southern portion of Michigan City. Power was restored in the early morning hours.

The 17-year-old Michigan City High School student's name has been withheld by police at the request of the family.
