On Monday, the Palisades Nuclear Power Plan outlined its restart path during a meeting with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Holtec said this could be the next steps needed to reopen the plant and power up Southwest Michigan again.
In February, Holtec submitted a second funding application to restart the plant, which could potentially restore over 1,500 jobs in the area.
This is Holtec's second attempt to restart the power plant -- the first was rejected by the Department of Energy back in early December -- even after getting support from Governor Gretchen Whitmer!
The Department of Energy did not say why it was rejected.
