Home demolished because of damage in deadly car crash

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend home damaged in a deadly car accident was demolished.

The walls came crashing down around noon leaving behind a pile of debris.

An accused drunk driver plowed into the living room early Friday morning.

The owner, 57-year-old Barbara Knapp, and one of her dogs were killed.

Crews already tore down part of the house on Friday because it was unstable.

Barbara Knapp is being remembered by friend and family.

Her visitation is going on at Palmer Funeral Home in South Bend.

There is a funeral mass on Wednesday morning at St. Pius Catholic Church in Granger.

It starts at 10:30 a.m.
