SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The best of the best is right here in South Bend.
Thanks to your votes, Four Winds Field has been named the best Class-A ballpark in the country.
It was part of a competition organized annually by Ballpark Digest.
The competition is voted on by those in the baseball industry, media, and fans.
Four Winds edged out the home of the Quad Cities River Bandits with 56 percent of the vote.
In a statement, South Bend Cubs President Joe Hart said, "It's incredibly humbling to see the outpouring of support in this competition. When I first came to South Bend, the facility had recently received an upgrade while maintaining its classic charm. But it was still lacking in a few key areas that we identified and quickly resolved. Four Winds Field is not just a great ballpark; it's the best of the ballparks.”
