'Homes for Heroes' offers big savings for those who sacrifice

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Soon Michiana heroes will be getting a financial 'thank you' when they purchase a home.

It's part of the Homes for Heroes program.

Some home buyers are getting a big chunk of change at the time of closing, according to Weichart Realty on Ironwood Rd.

It could be up to a few thousand dollars if they qualify and if they use the one man who is participating in this nationwide program.

ABC 57's Jason Aubry reports.

Homes for Heroes is found in 44 states, and according to the organization, has saved people more than $1.8 million in buying, selling, and refinancing homes.
