The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum will be hosting train rides on Saturday, September 5.

The whole family can enjoy a ride on the open air cars for a 10-mile round trip excursion.

Visitors will board at the depot in North Judson and ride the rails through the countryside, across the Kankakee River before returning to the depot.

Excursions depart at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. CST.

The cost is $12 for adults (age 16 and up), $10 for youth (ages 6-15) and $6 for children (ages 1-5).

The museum is free.

It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance due to limited seating for social distancing.

You can purchase tickets online at HoosierValley.org or call 574-896-3950 and leave a message.

The group is following all cleaning and disinfecting protocols recommended by the state, county and CDC guidelines.

Guests and employees are asked to wear a face mask when unable to maintain social distancing.

The depot, restrooms, gift shop and display cars are all open to the public.

If you attend the excursion, you cannot purchase food and drinks, but you can bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages with you.
