Sunny today, but expect a wetter and warmer weekend
The extreme heat continues through the weekend. If you’re planning to spend time outdoors, remember to hydrate and take frequent breaks in the air conditioning. Today is mostly sunny and hot – heat indices could climb to 100 degrees by afternoon.
Most of today is dry, although a stray shower or two isn’t out of the question. Overnight looks mostly dry as well, with temperatures falling into the low 70s.
Sunday there is a better chance for rain and storms, but not until the evening. These storms could bring gusty winds. Although heat indices are slightly lower on Sunday, it will be hard to tell a difference. It will still feel hot and humid.
Relief is on the way Monday after the storms roll through. Temperatures during the work week are in the low 80s and overnight lows fall into the low 60s. The week should stay mostly quiet with a few showers possible Monday.
Today: Hot and humid. Stray shower possible. High 92.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 72.
Sunday: Hot and humid. Breezy. PM thunderstorms. High 90.
Monday: Few showers. Partly cloudy. High 84.
