NOW: How one Eagle Scout went above and beyond for community service project

MILLERSBURG, Ind. -- Eagle Park in Millersburg was once filled with children and families. But for the past few years it's been deserted.

After a few failed attempts to restore the park, one Boy Scout from Troop 12 took matters into his own hands.

Pierceton Sark, now an Eagle Scout, always knew that when the time came, he would be the one to restore the park he once played at, down the road from his childhood home.

Sark worked with the community and the city to remove old trees, a basketball court, broken fences, and a mound of dirt with a tunnel underneath.

The hard work transformed the park, bringing in new concrete parking, rubber mulch, new wooden fences, signs, and a new boat themed playset.

Sark only took four months to complete this project and says he couldn’t have done it without his grandparents by his side.

He now hopes to inspire other Scouts to go above and beyond for their community service projects.
