CHICAGO -- As the Democratic platform shapes up, there are still questions about how the mounting death tolls in Gaza, and Americas role in the conflict, will affect support for Kamala Harris.
Multiple times, multiple speakers throughout the Democratic National Convention have said that it is time for a cease fire in Gaza, and President Joe Biden had called for a two-state solution.
But holding makeshift dolls meant to represent dead Palestinian children, this is the protest right at the security checkpoint where people enter the DNC.
It's part of a collage of competing demonstrations, some in direct opposition of each other. People opposing gay marriage, rallying support for ballot issues, and a mix of viewpoints on the Israel-Hamas war.
The protests near the DNC are not as large or volatile as others that have led to arrests.
While some worry that these activists could cost the White House for Democrats, State Representative Vernon Smith from Gary Indiana, stated that the dissenting voices have actually helped push the party towards peace.
