How to bet in Michiana ahead of the Big Game
SOUTH BEND, Ind. --- Getting ready for the Big Game means prepping your favorite chips and dip, stocking up on your drink of choice, and cheering on your favorite team. But, in Michiana placing your bets is just one added step.
“I want to see the Bengals win," said Sean Morrison, a Bengals Fan.
“The Rams," said Sam Taylor, a Rams fan.
Sports betting has been legal in Michiana since 2019.
On launch day casinos like Four Winds in South Bend — were the only legal ways to place your wagers.
Since then, Michigan and Indiana have expanded to mobile options.
“Indiana has 13 online sports books that are legal and regulated. Are you looking for the best deal? Are you looking for fun promotions? Fun betting options because each sports book has different things to offer," said Jake Garza, Managing Editor at PlayIndiana.com.
This year you can find promos like risk free bet options and super boosts — which increase your odds.
Many are torn on whether they plan on taking advantage of them.
“I’d say the boost. Just because I’m a lucky guy," said Taylor.
“I always feel like they’re kind of rigged," said Morrison.
And although no local teams are facing off this year mobile bets have brought in millions in revenue over the past year, according to Legal Sports Report.
Garza says it’s expected to grow even more this year, so now’s the perfect time to jump into the betting world.
“In February 2021 there was about 19 million dollars bet on football during that month. And, we can expect probably a similar number this year," said Garza.
You can place your bets up until Sunday and throughout the game, but the odds change after kickoff.
