Humane Society holds huge garage sale to benefit shelter animals

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Happening right now, there is a huge garage sale going on at the St. Joseph County Humane Society.

From books to blankets to flowers, there are lots of unique treasures to check out.

Proceeds help the shelter take care of the animals that live there.

While you're at the sale, you can also pick up a new family friend!

"We have 572 animals here in the place, we sure need people to come in and adopt -- especially cats. We have lots and lots of kitties. They are all spayed and neutered, all vaccinated, feline leukemia tested -- they're ready to go!" said Dr. Carol Ecker, Director of the St. Joseph County Humane Society.

The garage sale goes on all weekend.

If you can't make it and still want to help, the shelter asks that you drop off cat food or make cash donations.
