Humane Society of Elkhart County offering In-field Return to Owner services

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The Humane Society of Elkhart County posted to Facebook on Thursday that the shelter is now offering In-field Return to Owner services.

The shelter stated when on call if an animal control officer finds a loose animal with a tag or microchip they will attempt to return the animal to the owner before taking it to the shelter.

Officials said this will help free up space in the shelter, relieve stress on the animal, and reduce kennel fees.

Proof of current rabies vaccinations is required to reclaim your animal, for more information visit here.
