NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- The day started out gloomy and rainy, but by the time Jamie Middlebrook made his final trip aboard a fire engine, the sun was shining and the sky was clear.
Around 3 p.m., mourners made their way to the New Carlisle Cemetery for the graveside service for Assistant Chief Jamie Middlebrook.
It began with the pallbearers carrying Middlebrook to his final resting place.
The ceremony included Taps and the flag was presented to Middlebrooks' wife, Julie.
The ceremony ended with each mourner leaving a white carnation on the casket.
