Beckerink was escorted out of the courtroom in handcuffs Tuesday afternoon for violating terms of his bond.

The Tracey family attorney, Mitt Drew, released the following statement:
“Today marked a meaningful step forward in the fight for justice for Caitlin Tracey. The Tracey family is grateful for the Court’s rulings which will ensure that Caitlin’s voice will be heard and that Adam Beckerink will be held accountable for his actions."
ORGINAL: BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Adam Beckerink is set to appear in Court June 17, He is the husband of 36-year-old Caitlin Tracey who was found dead with her foot severed at the bottom of stairwell in a Chicago apartment building in October of 2024.
He will be in court in connection with domestic battery charges and charges regarding attacking police officers. This stems from criminal charges filed Beckerink for two domestic violence incidents at Caitlin’s home in New Buffalo in January and August of 2024.
His trial on those charges in 2024 was supposed to begin a few days after Tracey was found dead.
Tracey died Oct. 27, 2024, due to multiple injuries during the fall and her manner of death is still undetermined. Beckerink was taken into custody after police say he lied on the missing person's report filed hours before her death saying he had not seen her in months.
He was released shortly after but was arrested in March 2025 and extradited to Michigan from Chicago for aggravated abuse domestic violence charges stemming from incidents from Tracey's New Buffalo home last year.
