SAGINAW COUNTY, Mich. -- A chemical leak forced I-75 to close for nearly 18 hours through Saginaw County Michigan.
Both sides were shut down when a tanker truck rolled over and spilled acrylic acid.
A nearby mall and movie theater were forced to be evacuated.
The spill happened Sunday night and crews were still cleaning it up Monday.
The mess caused quite the traffic back-up.
"I'm driving from Detroit and have to go to Bay City for a job. It’s roughly an hour and 45 minutes today it's an extra hour," said John Plichota, a driver from Detroit.
The extra traffic was helpful for businesses off the interstate.
I-75 was back open Tuesday.
