Ice storm causing power outages, affecting thousands across southern Michigan

CASSOPOLIS, Mich.- Approximately 4,800 people are without power across southern Michigan following Wednesday's ice storm, according to Midwest Energy & Communications (MEC).

Crews are currently working to address emergency situations across the affected areas, and they will then begin working on outages, according to MEC.

MEC shared that the next update will be at 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
