Identity thefts tops U.S. consumer complaints

Identity theft remains the top concern of American consumers according to the Federal Trade Commission.

There's been a rash of recent security breaches including those at Home Depot and Anthem Health Insurance.

But there's another concern, crooks claiming to be government officials trying to gather personal information from victims.

The FTC said they received over 160,000 complaints last year.

That's double the number filed in 2013.
