Illegal possession of firearms and drugs found in search warrant

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. - Detectives executed a search warrant today finding 79 illegally possessed firearms on the 25000 block of Hiawatha Drive in Sherman Township.

Multiple enforcement teams collaborated in the search warrant, including The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) - South Office, along with Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET), Michigan State Police (MSP) K9 and Emergency Support Team (EST), finding some illegally modified firearms--short-barreled rifles and shotguns. At least one firearm was reported stolen.

Detectives also found a small quantity of methamphetamine, including suspected LSD, and signs of distribution of illegal narcotics, according to the Southwest Enforcement Team.

No arrests were made, though detectives expect numerous felony charges will follow after this investigation is reviewed by state and federal prosecutors.
