LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Illinois man arrested after the multi-vehicle crash involving the New Prairie High School Baseball Team on Thursday, May 8, 2025, has pleaded guilty to two counts.

The man, Shawn Akison, pleaded guilty on Friday, Mar. 13, to Causing Catastrophic Injury When Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated as a Level 4 Felony and Causing Serious Bodily Injury when Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated as a Level 5 Felony.

Akison's sentencing has been set for Wednesday, Apr. 29.
