Illinois teacher arrested for sex with student
DuPage County, Ill. -- An Illinois teacher is facing up to 44 years in prison after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
The high school teacher is charged with 11 counts of criminal sexual assault.
Investigators say for two years he met the girl for sex at the school parking lot and even his home.
They believe the relationship started when she was 16.
The girl's parents found a love letter from the teacher to the teen. That letter prompted the investigation.
Other parents hope it is not true.
"I am very hopeful that it is not true. You know, you really never know. I am one of those people that believes that there might be something more to this that we maybe do not know, but I would be very shocked," said Pam Lawrence, Wheaton North High School parent.
The teacher and that girl both admitted to the relationship saying it ended in 2011.
He is now on paid administrative leave.
