Incredible journey: Dogs reunited with owners five years later

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. -- Two dogs from Georgia certainly had an incredible journey.

Five years ago, Allie and Bama were stolen from their owners home.

Their owners, Brenda and Tom, thought they'd never see their two basset hounds ever again.

But the pooches turned up in a parking log hundreds of miles away.

Animal shelter workers discovered one of the dogs had a microchip with phone numbers--one belonging to their rightful owners.

"I asked her, 'Do you happen to have two basset hounds?'' the animal shelter worker said.

"Then I said, 'No, ma'am, ours got stolen five-and-a-half years ago," Brenda said.

"I said, 'Well, we have them here at the pound,'" the worker said.

And thanks to volunteers from a basset hound rescue, the two dogs were reunited with their owners.
