Indiana 211 offering free tax assistance to qualifying individuals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Tax season is approaching quickly as the IRS will start accepting returns at the end of January with the last day to file being Apr. 15.

Indiana 211 has partnered with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in order to offer free assistance to people who make $60,000 or less a year, people with disabilities, the elderly, and people with limited English with their taxes.

IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation to individuals who qualify, and no application is required in order to utilize the service.
