Indiana Department of Corrections facility has first COVID-19 death

WESTVILLE, Ind. – The Westville Correctional Facility reported its first death from the coronavirus on April 13. The victim was a male over the age of 70 that showed no signs of illness.

The man reported chest pains and trouble breathing and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

While at the hospital the patient tested positive for COVID-19 and passed away.

The man’s immediate family will be notified.
