Indiana DNR investigating La Porte snowmobile accident involving a South Bend woman

LA PORTE, Ind. -- Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a snowmobile accident that occurred Saturday night in La Porte. LaPorte County dispatch got a call about an accident in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 6 around 9:45. 

The investigation found 20-year-old Spencer Laskowski was driving a snowmobile with one passenger when it struck a vehicle that was parked in a private driveway. 20-year-old Travis Bryan was inside the parked vehicle at the time of the crash.

Laskowski and her passenger 21-year-old Alysen Walls were thrown off the snowmobile. 

Walls was airlifted to Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for a serious head injury. 

Laskowski was treated at Northwest Health Hospital for minor injuries. 

Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the crash. 

CORRECTION: The DNR initially said the crash occurred as the snowmobile crossed US 6. This story has been updated with new information provided by the DNR that the crash occurred on private property and the vehicle that was struck was parked.
