Indiana Dunes National Park announces new guided hikes
INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK, Ind. -- The Indiana Dunes National Park has announced that they will be offering two different guided hikes in July.
On Fridays and Sundays in July, parkgoers can join a ranger for an opportunity to climb to the top of Mount Baldy, which is normally closed to the general public due to public safety and restoration concerns.
The hikes will be offered every Friday night from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday July 10, 17, 24, and 31 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Participants are asked to meet at the Mount Baldy parking lot located off U.S. 12 west of Michigan City.
In addition, park rangers will be leading history-oriented hikes exploring the Bailly Homestead and Cemetery as well as the Chellberg Farm.
The history hikes will take place every Sunday afternoon in July from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants are asked to meet at the Chellberg Farm parking lot located on Mineral Springs Road between U.S. 20 and U.S. 12 in Porter.
