Indiana Governor Holcomb declares Indiana Move Over Week in October

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb declared the week of October 13-19 as Indiana Move Over Week for 2019.

This recognition relates to the law requiring motorists to move to an adjacent traffic lane when driving past an emergency vehicle stopped at the side of the road.

Indiana was the first state to pass such a law, and the law has expanded to towing, utility, road maintenance and construction vehicles with flashing lights.

Every state in the country except for Hawaii now has a move over law.
