Indiana Michigan Power reports massive power outage in parts of South Bend

Photo courtesy: Indiana Michigan Power SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A large area of South Bend has lost power, according to the Indiana Michigan Power website.
The outage began just before 11 a.m.
Indiana Michigan Power’s website estimates that power will be restored by 3:30 p.m. today.
I&M issued an update saying most residences have had power restored to them, and that the reason for the outage was "animal contact" with a peak of 1,811 customers affected.
