Indiana officials investigating a collision on lake involving two watercrafts

CEDAR LAKE, Ind. – Officials from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources are investigating a collision in Cedar Lake near Pine Crest Marina involving two personal watercrafts.

26-year-old Joshua Cambria of Chicago and 40-year-old Slawomir Kobylarczyk of Burbank were both operating personal watercrafts. Kobylarczyk’s watercraft struck Cambria’s when they were in the same area in the lake.

Cambria was taken to Franciscan Health Hospital in Crown Point and then transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center Hospital in Oak Lawn.

Cambria suffered serious arm and leg injuries.

Officials say that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.

An investigation is ongoing.
