BREMEN, Ind.—Indiana State Troopers with the Bremen District, and troopers across the state, will increase the enforcement of seat-belt laws for the national “Click It or Ticket” awareness push throughout the month of May.

The campaign continues through the Memorial Day holiday weekend and into the start of the summer travel season.

Indiana law requires that drivers and all passengers buckle up. Children under the age of eight must be restrained properly in a child car seat or booster seat.

According to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and the Indiana University Public Policy Institute, unrestrained drivers and passengers make up 53% of traffic deaths.
