Indiana Senate approves bill for inspections on temporary outdoor stages

INDIANAPOLIS -- Inspections will be required on all temporary outdoor stages like the one that collapsed at the Indiana State Fair.

On Thursday, the Indiana Senate approved a bill that gives the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission the power to regulate stages and other temporary structures.

The bill now goes to Governor Daniels.

Seven people died and dozens were hurt in the Aug. 13 stage collapse.
