Indiana State Police investigating inmate death at Marshall County Jail

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana State Police is investigating the death of a female inmate at the Marshall County Jail.

State Police were called to the jail on Sunday morning after jail staff found the inmate unresponsive in a cell.

The inmate, 31-year-old Tiffany Helbling of Plymouth, was found unresponsive at around 9 a.m.

Jail staff immediately began life-saving efforts until emergency medical technicians arrived. Helbling was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Helbling was alone in the jail cell.

An autopsy, including toxicology, will be performed Monday.
