Indiana State Police investigating shooting on Toll Road in Elkhart County
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - Indiana State Police is investigating a shooting that happened on the Indiana Toll Road in Elkhart County Tuesday evening.
Around 6 p.m., a semi driver told ISP Dispatch he thought he’d been shot at by the driver of another vehicle while driving east on the road.
Investigators in the case believe the two drivers were involved in a road rage incident about 1.5 miles west of the County Road 17 Exit.
After exchanging words, the semi drove off, but the other vehicle caught up and its driver shot rounds at the semi, police reports state.
The semi driver described the suspect vehicle as a gray or dark-colored passenger car, possibly with a temporary Indiana license plate.
