Indiana State Police report two people shot on I-65
INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police responded to reports of a shooting on I-65 on Friday.
Police were called to the area of I-65 and Southport Road just after midnight.
They determined the shooting happened on the ramp from the I-65 southbound to Southport Road.
Investigations show that there were two victims in two different vehicles.
Both victims, a 16 year old and a 15 year old, had non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and were taken to Eskenazi Hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe that the shots were fired from a third vehicle described as dark colored, possibly a Nissan, with large rust spots on the back.
The car was able to flee the scene westbound on Southport Road after the shooting.
Indiana State Police are currently collecting evidence and no arrests have been made.
