Indiana State Prison employee assaulted by inmate not expected to survive injuries

The prison identified the employee as Mike Keel.
Keel worked as a maintenance foreman at the prison and recently celebrated his 29th anniversary with the Department of Corrections.
He was known across the agency for his workmanship, including a bell that sits at the prison's Fallen Staff Memorial.
