Indiana University suspends travel to Italy due to public safety advisory

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – New travel restrictions are in place at Indiana University in response to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention raising Italy to a level 3 travel advisory on February 28.

The IU community is under a ban on all travel to any country with a level 3 travel advisory due to public safety concerns of the coronavirus.

This ban affects all faculty, staff, and employees, and any students returning home will have to be under a 14-day self-quarantine before being allowed back on campus.

This list of banned travel now includes Italy, China, South Korea, and Iran.

The most up-to-date advisories can be found on the CDC’s and State Department’s websites. Specific questions concerning this can be sent to [email protected].
