INDOT announces plans to narrow State Road 19 in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. -- More changes are headed to State Road 19 in Elkhart.
INDOT plans to narrow the road from four lanes to two near Simonton Lake. The state says it will help control speed and make it easier to turn left.
Last year, the state installed flashing lights at the curve. There have been more than 100 accidents on the stretch of road since 2004.
Construction should start by early summer.
