Indy 500 winner injured in a serious crash in Texas

HOUSTON — Three time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti was injured Sunday night in a serious crash at the Grand Prix of Houston that also left 13 others injured.


The car spun and sent debris flying into the stands.


Three fans were taken to the hospital and are listed in good condition while others were treated at the scene.


Franchitti suffered a concussion, fractured his spine and ankle.
