Inmates attempt to chisel their way out of Elkhart County Jail

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Two inmates may face additional charges for allegedly trying to chisel through the concrete walls of the Elkhart County Jail in an escape attempt, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Monday evening around 8:15 p.m., jail officials discovered 28-year-old Chase Jones and 28-year old Joshua Parker had attempted to chisel away at the concrete wall of the jail in an attempt to escape, reports said.

Jail officials requested additional charges against Jones and Parker for escape and criminal mischief through the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.
