Investigators looking into vacant house fire

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Investigators are searching for clues into what led to a vacant house fire in South Bend.

The fire sparked around 2:30 Friday morning at a house near the intersection of Calvert and Vernon Streets.

A neighbor said he heard fireworks all night but did not think anything of it at first until he went out and checked.

When fire crews arrived, they found the garage engulfed in flames.

Fire crews tell us that there was damage to neighboring homes.
