Irish #1 seed, start NCAA Tourney at home

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Fighting Irish are the number one seed in the Raleigh Region for the NCAA Tournament.

Coach Muffet McGraw and her team watched the Selection Show at Purcell Pavilion on Monday night with a couple hundred of their biggest fans.

The Irish will face Liberty at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at home.

This is the first time the Irish have been named a number one seed since 2001, and that year they went on to win the National Championship.

The Final Four is in Denver this year. Last year the Irish lost to Texas A&M in the Championship Game in Indianapolis, Indiana.
