Irish football players celebrate Thanksgiving together before traveling to USC

The Fighting Irish are preparing for their final regular season game in California, but they are also trying to squeeze in time to celebrate Thanksgiving before their big game against USC.

The players are celebrating Thanksgiving with their team at Coach Kelly's home before they head to Los Angeles.

Most of the Irish players were asked what they were thankful for, and most of them are thankful for their team, friends, families, and good health.

While they are not able to spend the holiday with their families, they think it is special they get to share Thanksgiving with the team, who are like a second family.

“It's tough not being home when you're 18- or 19-years old with your family, but these are my brothers, so being able to sit down and eat with them is very nice,” says Irish linebacker James Onuwalu.

The Irish will take on their west coast rival USC on Saturday.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
