ISP identifies suspect and victim in double murder, kidnapping

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Indiana State Police have identified the man who is suspected of killing two people at a Circle K and kidnapping a woman at a restaurant before he was shot by police.

The suspect has been identified as Cherok Ameer Douglass, 37, of New Albany. 

Douglass has been charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of robbery.

One of the victims killed outside the Circle K was the suspect’s wife, 38-year-old Brandee Douglass.

The second person who was killed at the gas station has not been named pending notification of next of kin.
